Our top mount refrigerator for LG Electronics features an all-around smarter use of space and an innovative tilt-and-glide freezer door that together raise the standard for premium home appliances.

The traditional fridge's most accessible part often held the least amount of goods. For example, from a standing position, the user has the greatest visibiity to the door and the front of the shelves. However these spaces account for only 30 percent of refrigerator's total volume; while a great proportion of the volume towards its back is difficult to reach.

Research also revealed that between eating out more and buying more prepared foods, we have more food containers of all sizes and shapes. These irregular boxes, cans, jugs and bags create negative spaces that are either left unused or messily stacked. To address these problems, we designed the following:

1.TILTING FREEZER DRAWER: The lesser-used freezer was put on the bottom creating greater access and visibility for the more often used refrigerator. The freezer door glides out effortlessly and swings down, maximizing accessibility and visibility from a standing position.

2. BIG DEEP DOORS: We created extra big and deep doors to efficiently hold milk jugs, wine bottles, and bottled water.

3. REFRESHMENT WINDOW: We created a third window in the door that serves as an access and service table to the most frequently used items.

4. MULTI-FUNCTIONAL FOLDING TRAY: The slender tray folds out to hold items such as bread, wine or an egg carton.

5. JAR SHELF: We made a shelf with tighter spacing to snugly hold small jars and bottles.

6. LAZY SUSAN: The spinning tray rotates to bring items from the back towards the front.
